Fundraising is a key aspect of our work, and we typically raise about £5,000 each year. Below we highlight three of our major events during the year up to September 2009. For a full list of activities during the past year click here.

THE CHRISTMAS SLEIGH Lions and their helpers tirelessly work in the run up to Christmas with Santa’s sleigh with both static and door-to-door collections , and this activity generates our biggest source of funds.
EASTER RAFFLE DRAW 2010 Our very grateful thanks to the many pubs and clubs in the area who supported our Easter Raffle Draw, through which we raised £750 for our nominated Charity, Canine Partners. We also added £100 from our general funds to make a total donation of £850.
ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF DAY In collaboration with our colleagues from the Thurrock Lions Club, our Charity Golf day this year was held on Thursday July 8th 2010. A thoroughly good time was had by all the competitors and we raised over £300 for the club's general charity account. Keep an eye on this website for details of the 2011 event.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES Club members were busy through the Summer months on a number of small-scale fund-raising and 'Service' activities, including coffee mornings, St George's Fete in Wickford, and at the Essex Air Ambulance 'Dragon Boat Race' at Hanningfield Reservoir. We also undertook our regular support for the Essex Royals pre-season football tournament by manageing the car park and selling the programmes
