Not only does the club help the local community, but it also helps with national and international projects such as those summarised below.

NATIONAL CHARITIES 

Carrying out local collections for national charities and causes, e.g. Children in Need and Marie Curie

SIGHT FIRST 

Providing funds for the treatment of preventable blindness in India and other countries.

OVERSEAS CHILDREN'S HOSPITALS 

Providing funds to help equip children’s hospitals in the countries of the former Yugoslavia

HUMANITARIAN DISASTERS - EMERGENCY AID
 
Providing funds for emergency aid for disasters around the World. 

USED SPECTACLES 

The collection of used spectacles for distribution in third world countries.  Several local Opticians support our collections.  See the picture below, which shows a local optician with her Lions collection bin full of spectacles.
